Allsvenskan
- The Swedish hockeyleagues are not closed, unlike many other leagues, there is a chance for for the teams in Allsvenskan to get a place in Elitserien. The season ends with a qualifying series were the two worst teams from Elitserien and four teams from Allsvenskan compete for two spots in Elitserien.
- There's a very big difference between the top teams and the other teams in terms of budget, number of spectators, proffessional organisations and so on. Teams like Leksand and Malmö have far better conditions than for example Hammarby and Nybro.
